Established in 1964 around the historic Langlois-Eteveneaux cottage, Akaroa Museum focuses on the history of Banks Peninsula. The museum has expanded to include four exhibition galleries and two additional heritage buildings, the Akaroa Court House and the Custom House. Its varied collections encompass archives, art, photography, costume and textiles, taonga, and technology, providing extensive research services and access to its collection. Open 363 days of the year, the museum offers a comprehensive insight into the region’s rich heritage.
